This is another painting from my trip to the Rocky Mountains in November. I loved the lighting effect of the "last light" just before the sun dropped behind the mountain. I don't think I could have ever done this plein air, because the effect just lasted for a minute. However, I'll try next time and have the scene painted by 3:00 in the afternoon, since this happened at 3:12 - then the sunlight was gone totally.
