I painted this in March on Bear Lake Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. At first, the sun was out and there was no wind, but about halfway through the sun disappeared and the wind came up. I retreated to my car (the turnout where I parked was just feet from where I was set up), put a plastic picnic table cover in my lap and finished the painting with my paint box in my lap and my turp (Gamsol) in a drink holder. It worked! I always paint the light and shadows first in case these circumstances occur!
