"Innocent Refuge"

Oil on Linen Canvas

I've decided to do a whole series of this fawn that stayed in our back yard in Estes Park for a whole day. I was trying to work on a painting, but he was so distracting that I'll bet I got three brush strokes done all day. I was too busy photographing him as he moved around, napping in different places. I decided to put him in a bed of leaves in this painting. He was actually lying in our flower bed. I was trying to portray a soft light on him and have the leaves "come and go" in the light.
