"Hidden Valley Gold"
Plein Air Oil on Panel
Image Size 12 x 16
It took my going back three times to this location to finish this plein air. The third time I was able to go back, the wind had blown almost all the leaves off the trees, but thank goodness I was through with that part. This was at the entrance to Hidden Valley, which used to be Rocky Mountain National Park's ski area. I had already done one painting there that morning ("Blazing on the Hillside") and only got through with about half of this one the first day. Also, my light changed because it got to be afternoon, so I came back two more mornings. Fun to paint and the leaves were beautiful!
