This is one of my favorite outdoor paintings I did in Rocky Mountain National Park this year. I went back to this location to paint more yellow aspens after I'd painted "Making a Comeback" there the day before, and, to my dismay, almost all the yellow leaves had blown off during the nightduring the snowstorm! I started to turn around and go somewhere else for yellow leaves, but I walked a little way into the trees and this is what I found! Snow-covered logs, aspens and a few yellow leaves. What a combination. I'm glad I stayed.
