"Blazing Into Winter"

Plein Air Pastel on Panel

Image Size 8 x 10

This is my first-ever plein air pastel, and it was SO much fun. The day was a sunny, almost warm one (although it doesn't look that way!) and when the wind isn't blowing, it's heavenly. This is a spot just past Moraine Park on Bear Lake Road in Rocky Mountain National Park in March. I tried to get out of the wind if there was going to be any because I was testing out my set-up for pastels, which isn't perfect. I will do more of these! I'm still experimenting with pastels to find the right way for me.
